Alan Davidson

Alan Davidson qualified from the University of Glasgow in 1985 and completed his training in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in the West of Scotland having held both NHS and University appointments. He has been a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at the Victoria Infirmary, Glasgow since 1995 and has been practising at Ross Hall Hospital since 1997.

His specialist interests include care of the critically ill (intensive care medicine); treatment of severe infections; the management of difficult airways; postoperative analgesia; nutritional support; and clinical research.

Alan Davidson has published and presented internationally on many topics including anaesthesia, postoperative pain control, severe sepsis, sedation in intensive care, blood products and outcomes of severe illness.

He has a regular commitment to anaesthesia for colorectal surgery, gynaecological surgery, orthopaedic surgery, general surgery and ear, nose and throat surgery.
